The River Knows Their Name On the Tonawanda waterfront, where the Niagara River widens and the breeze carries the scent of water and gasoline in equal measure, Collins Marine had been a landmark for as long as anyone in town could remember. The blue‑and‑white sign stood like a promise: Boats fixed right. Summers saved. Most people saw Collins Marine as a marina, a repair shop, a place to buy a Chaparral or Robalo Boat or rent a pontoon or get a tune‑up before the season kicked off. But for the locals, it was something more—almost a character in the town’s story.
